Where were you? I was getting ready for my Women's Studies class. I was an RA, and had only been 1 for about 3 weeks. I heard the other kids on the hall screaming at everyone to wake up.
Next door, on the tiniest TV ever, I watched the second plane crash into the tower. I watch the replay every year, and I still remember thinking, "This can't be happening". Everyone remembers where they were when the World Stopped. We watched. We waited. And at the time, we all loved our President, loved Giuliani, and were ready.
We declared war. A War that has redefined a nation. Redefined the world.
It is 9/11, and the political climate is different, and I am far from the 19 year old that I was. America stands divided on nearly everything, and we have the opportunity to choose our destiny.
But I remember sitting with kids I barely knew. I remember crying for the thousands of people that we knew were going to be dead. I remember knowing that life as we knew it was never going to be the same. I remember.
I will always remember.
